Official participant of Cannes Film Festival "Short Film Corner 2009" and the "Black Hollywood Film Festival" 2009 The Lesson Plan is about the ledged of William Lynch, a British slave owner from the West Indies allegedly traveled to the United States in 1712 to instruct American slave owners on how to make and keep slaves; he a left a letter with specific instructions. The term "lynching" is derived from his name. Flash forward to 2009 where we meet Nix Dunn, a Brooklyn, NY public school teacher/scholar on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Obsessed with the letter, he creates a Lesson Plan during Black History Month in order to teach his students about the psychological damage he believes still enslave African Americans today.
